The Fashion design / Model making / Sewing course at La Maison de Couture (Brussels) is an intensive 2-year program designed to train complete fashion designers, specializing in haute couture, wedding dresses and luxury garments. With both theoretical and practical instruction, you’ll develop your creativity, technical know-how and artistic vision.

CONTENTS AND MODULES
FASHION DESIGN AND GARMENT KNOWLEDGE
Study of proportions, volumes, creative research, trends, costume history, fibres & fabrics
FASHION DESIGN
Freehand & digital sketches (Illustrator), trend boards, detailed data sheets
PATRONAGE AND DRAPING
Creation of patterns (skirts, bodices, pants…) bust work, 3D moulding
HIGH-END SEWING AND FINISHING
Mainline techniques (skirt, dress, bodice), then complex garments (lace, bustiers, evening / wedding dresses) in 2ᵉ year.
THEMATIC WORKSHOPS
Embroidery, accessories (belts, hats…), experimental textiles, creative discoveries – By outside contributors.
VISITS AND IMMERSIONS
Fashion outings (Brussels, Antwerp), exhibitions, trade shows (e.g. Première Vision in Paris)
PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIPS
Optional 1-month internship between 1ʳᵉ and 2ᵉ year – compulsory 3-month internship at the end of 2ᵉ year + final assessment
Possibility of direct admission in 2ᵉ year if you have already taken a course in sewing, patternmaking or Patternmaking. Selection by technical tests and interview. May be retaken in September.

Expenses and supplies
Fashion design/design/sewing diploma awarded on completion of both years, after validation of all modules
Luxury & Haute Couture specialization offered in 3ᵉ year (optional)
Important: private schools in Belgium do not issue state diplomas; our certificates attest to successful completion of our program and mastery of the skills taught.
- 1ʳᵉ year: €5,900
- 2ᵉ year: €6,400
- Supplies package:
– 1ʳᵉ year: €500
– 2ᵉ year: €800
(includes fabrics, calico, exercise-related consumables) - Includes: sewing machines, cutting paper, graduation photo shoot
- Not included / to be provided by student: threads, interlining, buttons, personal busts, finishing supplies
- Payment in one instalment before the start of the course – instalments available on request
- International transfer fees: to be paid by the student
